A Farewell To Arms, Book One: Opinion

Book one of A Farewell to Arms by Ernest Hemingway was hard for me to visualize partly because not much was happening, besides the end where FH was blown up. I am beginning to enjoy book two a lot better than the first. I think this is because it is written more like a woman's book, also knowing the background information helps me to develop a mental image of the plot. Hemingway puts a lot of detail to his stories and in some situations it makes the page drag on. However, I think I will begin to like this book as it progresses, but it won't be a favorite.

Thom

I want to talk about my friend Thom. His name is Thomas, but I like to call him Thom. However it is pronounced like Tom, but I enjoy adding H's to random words - Thom adds S's (he has a lisp). Thom is my best friend, last year we had all of the same classes and he likes analogies. We debate quite a lot and it is funny because of his analogies and lisp. I think its hilarious to tell him to do tongue twisters-Sally sells seashells by the sea shore- that's the funniest one. Thom is a great friend and a very nice person. But Thom's lisp has started to rub off on me.

Book Review - 9th Judgement by James Patterson

James Patterson's book, 9th Judgement, is a part of his Women's Murder Club series. This book contains three different crimes. Lindsay Boxer, the main character and a homicide detective. She must discover a killer with the motto WCF, Women and Children First. In another part of the book a high-school english teacher steals precious jewelry from the high-society people. During a heist of Casey Dowling, she was almost caught by the awoken family. She soon found out that Casey's husband used the robbery as a coverup for the murder of his wife. He stated it a robbery with an horrific ending.

Willie Windsor

This is the story of my grandpa.

My Papaw is is quite out of the ordinary for a man his age. Grandpa Willie is 54 and adamant with tenacity of being a baby. However, with his act that has now become a belief, he is exemplary at playing the part. Papaw uses diapers and wears frilly little old people onesies. For is birthday on the previous Sunday, Papaw was punctilious in accepting his gifts. He was rude to visiting people because he fastidiously observed people making odd faces while talking to him. However, I see why people make faces, my grandfather is a baby! He even uses emollients to make his skin "like a baby's bottom", this is only one example of his assiduous behavior. Before his baby bit, Papaw was very intrepid, doing all things listed on his bucket list. My family and I first believed Papaw's baby act would be auspicious, but it has become severe to our reputation. We have tried to mitigate the situation and have come up successful.

Blog Post 1 - Leon Hollimon

Before Leon Hollimon was apprehended by police, he had stolen an ambulance and continued in a high-speed chase.

When I left the crazy house I became frenetic; My duty called when I caught a glimpse of a man, stranded to die on the side of a major highway. I immediately jumped into action, my indolent spell had ceased. I then carried the man to the nearest hospital and soon became listless and enervated, i noticed an ambulance glowing in the sunlight and calling to me. I jumped in, secured the man in the back, and with ebullience dressed up into my doctors attire. It all brought back memories fast, but too fast, I didn't have time to remember those days. I just couldn't let this man die like Jack! Back then I was dilatory, now the ambulance gave me speed. I had to save this man and I would.
At each red light I tried repeatedly to revive the dying man. I inserted an IV, which because of his paucity of sleep, he became soporific. Once I noticed that the IV was unchanging to the man, I used a defibrillator, that to was not working. Because it was so arduous to keep the man alive, I became frantic and started to speed twice the legal limit. I needed to to get to my hospital, they were the only ones who could save him. Then, out of nowhere the police stopped me. I didn't know why they were stopping me, did they want the man to die?

When the police searched Leon and the stolen vehicle, they found him impersonating a doctor and a dead deer strapped in the back inserted with IVs and obvious marks of the nearby defibrillator. When questioning Mr. Hollimon the police were convinced Leon sincerely believed he was trying to save a dying man. However Leon was sent back to his asylum for protection of others and himself.
