A Farewell To Arms, Book One: Opinion

Book one of A Farewell to Arms by Ernest Hemingway was hard for me to visualize partly because not much was happening, besides the end where FH was blown up. I am beginning to enjoy book two a lot better than the first. I think this is because it is written more like a woman's book, also knowing the background information helps me to develop a mental image of the plot. Hemingway puts a lot of detail to his stories and in some situations it makes the page drag on. However, I think I will begin to like this book as it progresses, but it won't be a favorite.
